Idag släpper Sverigeaktuella legendaren Bruce Springsteen sin tolkning av låten ”Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)” och glädjer fansen med att han via Columbia Records ger ut albumet ”Only The Strong Survive” den 11 november. Det nya albumet innehåller 15 låtar och blir Bruce Springsteens 21:a studioalbum. Han gör personliga tolkningar och hyllar Soul, Motown, Gamble and Huff, Stax och många fler genrer. Albumet innehåller fina gästspel av Sam Moore på sång, The E Street Band på blås, stråkarrangemang av Rob Mathes och bakgrundssång av Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell, Michelle Moore, Curtis King Jr., Dennis Collins och Fonzi Thornton.
Bruce Springsteens egna ord om det nya albumet: “I wanted to make an album where I just sang. And what better music to work with than the great American songbook of the Sixties and Seventies? I’ve taken my inspiration from Levi Stubbs, David Ruffin, Jimmy Ruffin, the Iceman Jerry Butler, Diana Ross, Dobie Gray, and Scott Walker, among many others. I’ve tried to do justice to them all—and to the fabulous writers of this glorious music. My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it. I hope you love listening to it as much as I loved making it.”
“Only The Strong Survive” är inspelat i Thrill Hill Recording i New Jersey, producerat av Ron Aniello, mixat av Rob Lebret och exekutivt producerat av Jon Landau. Det nya albumet blir uppföljaren till Bruce Springsteens “Letter To You” som släpptes 2020 och gick in etta på topplistan i 11 länder. I februari 2023 återförenas Springsteen med sitt legendariska band The E Street Band för att bege sig ut på turné i USA och Europa. Turnén har i skrivande stund sålt över 1,6 miljoner biljetter och vi har den stora glädjen att få Bruce Springsteen till Sverige för tre konserter den 24, 26 och 28 juni på Ullevi i Göteborg.
