Det blir dubbelfirande när det kanadensiska heavy metalbandet Anvil i höst åker på sin mest omfattande Nordiska turné hittills, med stopp i både Sverige, Norge och Danmark. De släpper sitt nittonde album ”Impact is Imminent” samtidigt som de firar 40-årsjubileum av det ikoniska albumet “Metal on Metal”. Anvil hann även släppa albumet “Legal at Last” under pandemin och har därför aldrig spelat det live. Nu utlovas en turné med mycket spännande nytt material
Med start 24 oktober kommer Anvil göra efterlängtade konserter i både Oslo, Stockholm, Örebro, Göteborg, Malmö och Köpenhamn. Anvil bildades i 1978 i Toronto av gitarristen och sångaren Steve ”Lips” Kudlow och trummisen Robb Reiner. Båda medverkar fortfarande i bandet och kompletteras sedan 2014 av basgitarristen Chris Robertson.
“Everything comes together homogeneously. As a result, the new material sounds monolithic, right down to the very last details, both in terms of rhythm and harmonies. In the past, our studio sessions were sometimes a little like jumping in at the deep end, with us having to improvise a lot and making decisions at short notice. Working on ‘Impact Is Imminent’, not only was there plenty of time for the songwriting process in the run-up to the recordings, but I also had the leisure to put all my ideas to the acid test and work on them until they were perfect.” Steve ”Lips” Kudlow
