Nu släpper Italiens kultförklarade hårdrocksband DEATH SS den officiella videon till sin tredje singel ”Justified Sinner”. Låten är hämtad från deras nya studioalbum ”The Entity” som släpps den 1 maj 2025 via Lucifer Rising/Self Distribuzione. Konceptalbumet producerades av geniet och frontmannen Steve Sylvester tillsammans med den engelske Grammy-vinnaren producenten Tom Dalgety (Rammstein, Ghost, The Cult, m.fl.).

‘‘‘Justified Sinner’ was the first song I composed for the concept ‘The Entity’. The idea had come to me several years ago, talking to my friend James Hogg, a descendant of the writer of the same name who wrote the novel ‘The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner’ in the first half of the 19th century. After reading this complex and intriguing book, the idea came to me to explore the theme of the ‘Doppelgänger’, the conceptual basis of the entire new album,” förklarar DEATH SS frontman Steve Sylvester.
Videon klipptes återigen av Andrea Falaschi som berättar mer om tekniken som ligger bakom videon: “To recreate the angel of ‘Justifed Sinner’ we used rear projection, a vintage technique also used by Kubrick in his masterpiece ‘Eyes Wide Shut’. This allowed us to maintain the transparencies of the angel’s dress that would otherwise have been impossible with a green screen…’
”Justified Sinner” finns tillgänglig digitalt och som 12″ Limited Deluxe-utgåva med ett specialformat omslag med transparent orange vinyl och innehåller det tredje av det fyrdelade häftet med hela historien bakom konceptet ”The Entity” tillsammans med två andra spår på sida B, ”The Evil Painter” e ”The Whitechapel Wolf”, som också finns med på det nya albumet.
Den litterära inspirationen till det 12 sånger långa opuset sträcker sig från Aleister Crowley, som försöker befria människan genom att väcka sitt konstnärliga geni (”Aleister Crowley and the Hidden God” – Kenneth Grant), till karaktärerna hos författarna James Hogg (”The Private Memoirs And Confessions of a Justified Sinner”) och Robert Louis Stevenson (”The Strange Case Of Doctor Jekyll And Mr. Hyde”), som utforskar den mörka sidan av mänskligheten. Den innehåller också andra litterära karaktärer och referenser som ”Mary Reilly” (Valerie Martin), ”Portrait Of A Killer: Jack The Ripper – Case Closed” (Patricia Cornwell), ”Cemetery” (Renzo Barbieri), ”Hyde In Time” (Mario Gazzola), som i slutändan länkar till bandets historia.

Den italienska rockgruppen DEATH SS grundades 1977 av Steve Sylvester med målet att bilda ett band som på ett originellt sätt innesluter alla sina speciella intressen för ockultism, skräckfilmer, erotiska serier och rockmusik.
Efter att ha upplösts 1982 återbildade Sylvester bandet 1988 vars diskografi inkluderar album som ”In Death of Steve Sylvester”, ”Heavy Demons”, ”Do What Thou Wilt” och ”Panic” med influenser som sträcker sig från dark metal till cyberpunk.
